Greetings from the Wonders of Xandar pavilion!

Here at EPCOT, you can just feel the excitement around every corner. As we gear up to open a totally awesome coaster – Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. With just over a week to go before its official opening, we invited some stellar students from Boys & Girls Clubs’ FIRST Robotics programs to be among the first to experience the thrilling adventure, as part of our ongoing workforce development efforts. We also shared the news that we are donating $100,000 to Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida.

Our EPCOT cast members and emissaries of Nova Corps were so excited to welcome these students. Teach them all about the planet Xandar, its history, culture, and technology. Students even had the chance to meet with some of the talented Imagineers. Who helped bring the intergalactic experience to life, diving into how the team made the first-ever reverse-launch on a Disney coaster possible.

Here at Disney, we’re committed to developing our storytellers of the future. This most recent donation joins the $500,000 grant to Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida in honor of the 50th Anniversary celebration. Helping to further expand students’ understanding of robotics and support efforts to help them reach their dreams in STEM fields. (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) and beyond.

“Disney continues to create out-of-this-world opportunities for our students. And we are blown away by their continued investment,” said Gary Cain, President & Chief Executive Officer – Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida. “With this support, we’re able to continue our mission of inspiring and enabling all young people to realize their full potential.”
