The Disneyland Resort has grown in infinite ways since its opening in 1955, and for the last five (and six!) decades, 19 cast members, celebrating a service milestone of 50 or 60 years, have created, shared, and continued the magic for millions of guests.
On Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022, cast members celebrating 50 and 60 years of service were celebrated by their peers, leaders and loved ones. In recognition of their life-long careers with the Disneyland Resort.
“Celebrating 50 to 60 years with a company is unheard of,” said Ken Potrock, President, Disneyland Resort. “It speaks to the consistency and commitment of our cast members and the real belief in the Disneyland Resort community.”
Leaders shared heartfelt stories and memories of each of the recipients during a touching ceremony. Speaking about Karl Jaecke, who was celebrating 50 years of service, Kris Theiler, Vice President of Disneyland park said:. “[Karl] cares deeply about the guest experience and our cast in general and he brings that to work with him every single day.”
Although each individual journey has been incredibly unique, the one thing that has remained consistent among them all is the love for what they do at the resort. “[Hank Ameen] started working [at Disneyland park] when Dwight Eisenhower was the President.” Said Scott Berg, Director, Disneyland Security and Emergency Services Operations.
