Celebrate Newest Disney Magic Makers In Honor of World Princess Week

This week, we’ve been celebrating World Princess Week with all new Disney Princess content, experiences and products that spotlight courage and kindness. If anyone knows a thing or two about putting these two themes into action, it would be our newest Disney Magic Makers. Whether it’s answering the call to help when their communities are in need, fighting for those whose voice isn’t strong enough, or making every moment a magical experience, the four incredible women you’re about to meet each embody the temperament displayed by a Disney hero.
Clarice Sanchez of Sandia Pueblo, New Mexico comes from a small Native American community who has worked tirelessly to ensure her neighbors have stayed safe from COVID-19. Clarice spearheaded her tribe’s testing, opened a food pantry to ensure no member went hungry, and acted as a coordinator for her pueblo’s emergency response team, all while raising two young girls as a single parent.
Joanie Cullinan of Wellesley, Massachusetts is a firefighter who was diagnosed with cancer in 2018. Despite days feeling fatigued and nauseous, Joanie wasn’t going to sit around and feel sorry for herself. Joanie took direct action to turn her situation into something positive and organized “Shave Your Head for Heroes in Red” which raised $25,000 for firefighters with occupational cancer. Joanie is now cancer-free and is back on the front lines fighting wildfires. Despite her hectic schedule, she still dedicates time to raise awareness of early cancer detection.
Sarai Childs of North Bend, Washington became an influential leader when the COVID-19 pandemic struck her community. The small business champion organized an incredible PPE drive that has given away over 2,000,000 masks, 50,000 bottles of hand sanitizer, and 600 hand sanitation stations, allowing hundreds of small businesses to safely reopen their doors. Sarai took her prowess a step further and oversaw the efforts of 40 vaccination clinics that, in total, provided 25,000 vaccines to members in her community. And if all that isn’t enough, in her ‘spare time,’ Sarai rallied her community to raise $30,000 for the Backpacks Program, a nonprofit she runs that provides food to children in need.
Crystal Campbell of Summerville, South Carolina is a physician’s assistant in the Intensive Care Unit who goes the extra mile to ensure her patients’ morale is high at times when they’re not feeling their best. Showing it’s the little things that can spark magic, Crystal has purchased shampoo and oils to massage a patient’s head, brought pudding to a boy who’s never tried it before, and even provided musical therapy via her own beautiful voice. Crystal has taken on extra hours to give her patients all she can and has become a saving grace to every one of them.
To celebrate the magic they’ve sparked, these Disney Magic Makers will enjoy a one-year subscription to Disney+ and a trip to Walt Disney World Resort to celebrate the “Year’s Most Magical Celebration.”
