Check Out What’s New in the Green Cabin Room at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort

When asked by our inquisitive Disney Files staff to name his favorite spot at the resort he’s led for the past 10 years, Disney’s Vero Beach Resort General Manager Paul Hart didn’t hesitate. “The Green Cabin Room,” he told us. “Outdoor porch, overlooking the ocean.”
We’d call that a humble flex (“my resort has a porch overlooking the ocean!”), but it’s our favorite spot, too. Perched atop the resort’s central Inn building, the Green Cabin Room has long been among our (and Members’) favorite before- and after-dinner destinations, serving cocktails, coffees and light bites in a setting that recalls the design of Spanish galleons that once sailed beyond these beaches, including the 1618 San Martin said to have wrecked just off the resort’s shore.
Now, Members, guests and Disney Files staffers alike have even more reasons to visit their favorite place, thanks to new morning offerings, tasting events and beverage options.
From 8-11 a.m. daily, stop by for pastries, specialty espresso beverages, coffees, teas and more. You’ll even find a selection of “breakfast cocktails.” As they say, it’s 5 o’clock somewhere. Before dinner, take part in “Adult Beverage Experiences” from 4-5 p.m. daily. Priced at $45 a person (inclusive of tax and gratuity), each hour-long experience is crafted around a different spirit.
While daily offerings are subject to change, Sundays and Thursdays are currently soaked in bourbon, with experiences inviting participants to try a classic Manhattan, sample a smoky old fashioned and sip on a resort-exclusive “Vero Beach Lemonade,” soaking it all up with charcuterie.
Wednesdays and Saturdays befit the region’s rich pirate history by celebrating all things rum, with a rum-based “Turtle Krawl” (a favorite at Disney’s Old Key West Resort), an equally rum-forward “Dark and Stormy” and the chance to make your own rum runner. And yes, more charcuterie.
Margaritas step into the sun on Tuesdays and Fridays, pairing three types of margaritas (everything from classic to chocolate) with chips, salsa and guacamole.
And while “Monday Martinis” are featured as I write this, I hear there’s talk of a shift to “Magical Mondays,” allowing the experience to highlight a wide range of Walt Disney World Resort cocktails.
Stop by Eb & Flo’s during your stay to book your “Adult Beverage Experiences.” And while visiting the Green Cabin Room outside of those morning-service and tasting-experience hours, be sure to check out the new menu, where you’ll find an expansive array of beers, wines, cocktails and mocktails.
See you at the beach!
