Creating Pixie-Dusted Details with a Disney Housekeeper

If you’ve ever stayed in a resort at Walt Disney World, you’ve likely discovered the pixie-dusted details created by our housekeeping teams.
Today, we’re delighted to introduce one of the women behind the magic who ensures those distinctly Disney surprises shine through for our guests.
Meet Martha, a housekeeping coordinator at Disney’s Grand Floridan Resort & Spa and cast member for over 14 years! As a coordinator, Martha works with her fellow cast members on everything. From perfecting their “bed wedge” technique to instructing them in the art of towel folding.
“I can create a little magic. When the kids come back and they run to go to the room and find the animal towels. That we can do for them. Something like a little dog, a bunny, a monkey,” said Martha. “I feel excited when I can see the smile on their face.”
Being empowered to add special touches of magic to a guest’s experience has inspired Martha throughout the years in her role.
“My favorite part of working housekeeping at Walt Disney World is to have the opportunity to interact with the guests,” she said. “It’s very exciting to know the different cultures and be part of the magic of Disney for them.”
