Disney Cast Member Plants Seeds for the Future with Disney Aspire

Horticulture manager Brian Dempsay started his Disney career as many do – on a Disney Professional Internship working in greenhouses at The Land pavilion in EPCOT. Becoming a cast member created endless possibilities for Brian. Like advancing roles in horticulture where he helped maintain beautiful and iconic landscapes across Walt Disney World Resort. Including the front entrance of Magic Kingdom Park.
Brian knew he wanted to grow his career at Disney, and he eventually set his sights on the next step. Earning his MBA and eventually leading a team and mentoring the next generation of Disney cast members – an opportunity made possible through Disney Aspire.
And his hard work paid off! Shortly after submitting his last school assignment, Brian joined the ranks of 2,800 Disney Aspire students and graduates who were promoted into leadership positions across The Walt Disney Company. And in addition to mentoring his cast, Brian isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty overseeing several Disney Resort hotels or installing topiaries for the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival.
Available to eligible hourly full-time and part-time employees and cast members, Disney Aspire pays 100% of tuition upfront. Allowing cast members to achieve their educational dreams. To Brian, Disney Aspire opened new doors, preparing him to continue his career in leadership and management.
“I’m a big believer that the more education you receive, the more chances you’ll have to grow professionally,” said Brian. “The fact that Disney has a program like this and invests in your continued growth is amazing.”
Balancing being a student, cast member, husband, and father is no easy task. But Brian had an amazing network of family, friends, and managers supporting him. He also received 1:1 coaching through Disney Aspire every step of the way from application all the way to graduation – which Brian appreciated.
What’s next for Brian now that he’s put his #DreamsWithinReach? Encouraging his team to enroll and inspire the next generation of horticulture cast members who want to take their careers to the next level with Disney Aspire. “I don’t think I would have gotten my new role if it weren’t for Disney Aspire. And I can’t recommend enrolling in this program enough.”
Congratulations, Brian! We are so proud of you and the 3,500 Disney cast members who have graduated from Disney Aspire since it launched in 2018. To learn more, visit aspire.disney.com
