Disney Cast Member Steps from Glass Slippers into Running Shoes

Hear ye, hear ye! The Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend is here. Guests and cast members are lacing up their shoes to celebrate the royal women who inspire them. Meet Lisa, a Walt Disney World cast member whose love of Disney Princesses runs deep.
“For most of my childhood, there weren’t any princesses who looked like me. I always admired the princesses that existed. Like Ariel for her curiosity, Mulan for her bravery, or Princess Jasmine for her determination,” Lisa said. “It wasn’t until the introduction of Princess Tiana that I realized that anyone could look like a princess — even me. I was moved by her perseverance in the face of adversity. And as a little black girl from New Orleans, I had never felt more seen.”
The strength, courage, and ambition of the Disney Princesses Lisa admired growing up inspired her to become part of the Disney College Program in 2021. Some of her favorite memories include the Disney Cast Life celebrations, insight, and wisdom. From a wide range of seasoned professionals, and all the pixie dust in between. It was the perfect launchpad for her Disney career.
Now Lisa is trading the glass slippers she once wore as a young child for running shoes! She’s already completed six runDisney races and next up: the Disney Princess 5K. Just like Disney Princesses, running has always been an impactful part of her life. Growing up, her family completed annual races. And her favorite part was the bond they shared during their training. Last year during the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, after months of preparation, she crossed the 10K finish line. Locking arms with her mother and sister- magical miles she will cherish forever.
Best of luck to Lisa! And all those participating in the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend. We’re cheering you on as you embark on this journey and celebrate your very own happily ever after!
