There’s been a lot of news to follow as we eagerly approach “The World’s Most Magical Celebration,” an 18-month event honoring the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort beginning Oct. 1. From the magical makeover of Cinderella Castle and sneak peeks at “Beacons of Magic” that’ll light up the parks after dark to updates about new daytime and nighttime entertainment experiences coming soon to “The Most Magical Place on Earth,” the Disney Files staff has had plenty of news to gather and share ahead of what promises to be a celebration for the ages.
Part of the fun of the buildup has been the ongoing series of social media videos revealing the golden sculptures of 50 characters that’ll be on display in Walt Disney World Theme Parks as part of the “Disney Fab 50 Character Collection.” Hosted by a diverse array of Disney Cast Members, Legends and celebrities, these minute-long videos reflect the global excitement surrounding this Walt Disney World celebration.
Disney Vacation Club Members who’ve followed these reveals have spotted a growing number of familiar friends from the pages of Disney Files Magazine and the stages of Membership Magic events. Last we checked, the Disney Files staff counted more than a dozen Member Cruise veterans and Disney Files newsmakers in the star-studded lineup of revealers, including our dear friend Bret Iwan, who kicked things off by revealing Mickey Mouse, the character to whom he so proudly lends his voice.
While each of these friends to Disney Vacation Club are part of our extended family, none is closer to our magical community than our very own Senior Vice President, Terri Schultz, who, from beside the familiar Ariel statue in the courtyard of Disney’s Beach Club Villas, recently revealed that Ariel’s friends Sebastian and Flounder will among the “Disney Fab 50 Character Collection” sculptures at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
In case you missed it, here’s Terri’s big reveal:
All of us at Disney Files Magazine look forward to delivering milestone updates and insights throughout “The World’s Most Magical Celebration,” beginning with our fall edition, scheduled to begin mailing to members at the end of September.
