Heroes of Avengers Campus Celebrate First Anniversary at Disney California Adventure Park

Cast members didn’t need the Time Stone this week to relive memories from the opening of Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure Park last year on June 4, 2021.
“It was nothing like I expected, but it was fun,” said Lead Nelson Medina-Castro.
As the first land at a Disney park dedicated to Super Heroes, working in Avengers Campus provides “an opportunity to play … and use your imagination,” he said. Over the last year, the Avengers Campus team has become “a community, like a real campus.”
To celebrate the anniversary, current and former Avengers Campus cast members celebrated with themed snacks and surprise appearances; by Super Heroes like Loki, Black Panther, and Captain America.
Lead Amaya Johnson appreciates the “diverse and inclusive perspectives” represented in Avengers Campus. “People are coming from all over the world to experience Avengers Campus.” And that provides a unique opportunity for the cast to “bring the story to life.”
At Pym Test Kitchen, lead Joshua Hernandez said the heroic teamwork that began opening day continues today.
“I am glad to be part of Avengers Campus and inspire the next [generation of] heroes,” said Joshua. His favorite Super Hero? “Spider-Man. Because he looks out for others … and gives them hope.”
