Hong Kong Disneyland Cast Member Delivers Innovative Experiences with Technology and Digital Family

Today, we are excited to feature Wing Ng, a cutting-edge technologist and Senior Manager of Digital Product Management at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort.
Wing’s biggest supporters may also be his toughest critics – his children.
“I enjoy hearing my children say, ‘My papa works for Disneyland!’,” he said. “It is truly an exciting and happy moment to share with them.”
Wing shared that their constructive feedback motivates him to keep working and thinking beyond what is possible.
“Whenever I show them a product I worked on, they always say to add more Mickey Mouse or Elsa to the digital experience. It is very funny to receive their input. And I enjoy finding ways to make the digital and physical experience easier for them and all guests.”
If you recently downloaded the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort mobile app or went shopping on the Hong Kong Disneyland eStore, you have already seen his work in action!
“My team built the Hong Kong Disneyland eStore for the merchandise team. So they could have a new digital platform where they could continue engaging with guests when they were unable to visit the resort,” he said.
This new site offers a hassle-free online shopping experience and brings magic to the guests’ very own homes. With each new digital opportunity, Wing shared he is reminded that the best is always yet to come!
“Our successes are a joint effort,” he added. “Here [with digital product management], we are like a big family. We care not only about the projects we are working on but also how we can make the work environment better for one another!”
“There is one saying that resembles our work ethic, ‘If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.’”
His team’s collaborative effort stretches throughout Hong Kong Disneyland Resort as they also provide technology and digital support to different lines of business such as marketing, operations, and more.
“I enjoy working with different departments,” said Wing. “The technology world changes fast. We must learn new things every day and keep delivering immersive experiences to our guests.”
In addition to discovering new ideas in his field, Wing has also been learning alongside other leaders in the Leadership Immersion Program. A program designed to prepare top talent across Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products to take on greater responsibilities over time.
During this year-long program, participants enhance their skills in four main areas: developing a commercial mindset, driving operational excellence, cultivating creative sensibilities, and demonstrating leadership versatility. All essential capabilities needed to run a diverse set of businesses. Since starting the program, he has enjoyed meeting with leaders around the world and applying those four pillars professionally and personally.
