Runners felt the music this past weekend during the runDisney 2022 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend powered by Shokz! Exploring the heart of the human spirit found in the international cultures around EPCOT’s World Showcase, runners celebrated music, stories, and more in an exciting start to the 2022-23 runDisney race season. The harmonious race weekend featured three endurance events and a multi-race challenge to put runners to the test. Take a look at a few of our favorite moments from throughout the weekend:
It was an impressive final finish for New Jersey runner Megan Curham as she made history once again at the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon. For the fourth straight year, she completed the 13.1-mile course as the first female finisher with a time of 1:20:16. Becoming the event’s only four-time champion! Ian Bordelon of Orlando was the race’s overall winner. Crossing the finish line in 1:13:42, and Nicholas McCoy of Boerne, Texas (1:24:05) finished first in the wheelchair division.
It was also a star-studded event weekend with 4-time Olympic track and field gold medalist and reality TV star Sanya Richards-Ross finishing her very first 5K during the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend! Watch a few of her race day moments:
