SEASing the Day with Cast at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort
Originally published at Disney Parks News
We’ve eagerly awaited our visit to Disney’s Vero Beach Resort, a Disney Vacation Club resort, for Tour de Turtles since the beginning of our Ambassador term. The weekend soared above our expectations as Disney Conservation Team Wildlife and resort cast members showed us all around this special seaside retreat.
After participating in the highly anticipated Tour de Turtles event – an educational sea turtle migration marathon – we decided to find out what else makes Disney Vacation Club Members. And guests return to this resort year after year in our favorite way: cast member role shadows!
Just outside of the resort’s doors, hundreds of sea turtles leave nests behind in the sand each year. We wanted to experience how Team Wildlife studies and monitors these important animals. So we woke up bright and early to join them for their daily sea turtle nesting survey. Every morning during sea turtle nesting season, this team records all the sea turtle nesting activity from the previous night and then passes important conservation information along to resort guests. This team’s passion and the work they do extends beyond Tour de Turtles … did you know sea turtle nesting and hatchling season runs from March through October here at Vero Beach?
We then checked in with the front desk team. From welcoming guests, to assisting them with their luggage, these front desk cast members ensured we were set up for success by guiding us in their day-to-day responsibilities.
No visit to the resort is complete without participating in some of the fun activities the resort recreation team plans each week, so after a quick costume change, we dove into the wonderful world of recreation. From a sand sculpture competition to a mini golf tournament, the team showed us how they add even more sunshine to these resort offerings.
So, what did we find makes this and other Disney Resort hotels so special? The answer is simple: cast members!
Thank you to all the cast members at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort who welcomed us home and made our weekend turtle-y awesome! We can’t wait to “sea” you again real soon.
