Word of a possible Formula 1 race in Las Vegas first surfaced in a Las Vegas Review-Journal story back in January 2022. It was reported talks had been under way for six months at the time.
The speculation was Las Vegas could become F1’s flagship U.S. race.
It appears those rumblings have come to fruition.
Our source says the Las Vegas F1 race will happen in November, starting in 2023.

We’re told the Las Vegas race will run from Tropicana to Wynn. Around the under-construction MSG Sphere, down Paradise and back.
If Las Vegas must have more sports, this seems a pretty cool one to have, honestly.
The Review-Journal story said, “Race officials would have to pay for temporary road improvements on the Strip, mainly tied to sealing sewer manholes, as F1 race cars travel so fast those covers can be lifted out of the ground.”

Rumors of a Formula 1 race in Las Vegas have made many race fans giddy, so they’ll no doubt enter a state of euphoria at the news the deal is done.
An F1 race would be great for Las Vegas, at least in terms of tourism. Traffic will be a mess, but Las Vegas doesn’t sweat over the small stuff.
F1 is loud, it’s fast and it’s a coup for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority to have landed the race. Plural, from what we can tell.
